Manufacturing technique unchanged since 1857.
With its manufacturing technique unchanged since 1857, the oil mill at Blot-l´Église is one of the last artisanal oil production sites in the french Region of Auvergne: None-the-less a true commercial enterprise which is not just producing for tourists!
The rape seeds come from local crops. The nuts come from the Auvergne, the Dordogne or from the Dauphiné, the hazelnuts from Aquitaine, the great French regions where they are cultivated. The oil mill produces also oil from almonds, arachide, sesame, œillette (blue poppy seed), and pistachio.
The oil mill at Blot-l´Église is open to the public. If there is fabrication going at the moment of your visit, you are welcome to see all stages of the production. You can also taste and buy the products in the workshops store.
